FAR NORTH MAN CHARGED WITH CHILD SEX OFFENCES

A man from the State’s Far North will appear in court on Monday charged with child sex offences.

Detectives from Port Augusta CIB arrested the 32-year-old man today, following a joint investigation between CIB, Special Crimes Investigation Branch, the FBI and Australian Federal Police.

The man was charged with two counts of unlawful sexual intercourse, producing and disseminating child exploitation material (aggravated) and failing to comply with his reporting obligations in relation to the National Child Offender Register.

It will be alleged that the offences involve the abuse of two children under 14 years of age, which was recorded and disseminated via the internet.

The man was not granted bail and will appear in the Port Augusta Magistrates Court on 26 September.
